Make Your MASTERPIECE {TPT Challenge}

It's week 3 of the TPT Seller Challenge hosted by Third in HollywoodTeach Create MotivateSparkling in Second, and Peppy Zesty Teacherista! This week's challenge was to design a new product for TPT!

With the start of a new school year just around the corner I wanted to design a new ice breaker for the first week of school! I love games that help my students get to know one another and build a sense of community in the classroom, so this challenge came at the perfect time!
I decided to make "This or That" cards. Using these cards students can interact with other students to find out which item they prefer. Each card has two choices for students to pick from and topics include sports, school subjects, school specials, colors, foods, animals, pets, and many more! I have also included directions for using these cards with a whole group or you can change it up and use these cards in small group. This activity can lead to great discussion between your students if you ask them to also tell their partner why they chose one picture over the other.

Find these cards HERE in my TPT store! Or you could win them by entering the Rafflecopter below!

Dare to Dream {TPT Challenge}

It's week 2 of the TPT Seller Challenge hosted by Third in HollywoodTeach Create MotivateSparkling in Second, and Peppy Zesty Teacherista! This week's challenge is to DREAM BIG and think about what TPT could make possible for me and the future.

So I sat down and started thinking...why did I start posting activities and lessons to TPT and what can my TPT earnings help me do?

1. Share and connection with other educators:

This was the true reason I started on TPT! I really want to be able to share activities with other educators. I feel it is better to share with others than to reinvent the wheel all by yourself. This quote says it best:

We all work so hard for our students so that they can explore the world and become life long learners. If something works for your students, then I feel as educators we should share that with other teachers so that other kids can benefit as well. I find that lessons that are hands on and encourage children to collaborate are the best for my students. When I create a lesson that works and is engaging, what better place to share than on my blog or TPT!

2. Save for my daughter's education:

Higher education is important to both my husband and I so we started saving for our little girl's education way before she was even born. Any extra income that can help me save for her college, to allow her a world of opportunities, I am all about!

3. Buy a house:

Living in Northern Virginia definitely has it's advantages but the cost of homes is not one of them...the average home in our area is quite pricey! So pricey, that a lot of the teachers that work in my county don't live in the county. My dream is that money earned from TPT can help us afford a comfortable home in our area and also allow us to pay off our mortgage quickly.

Thanks for stopping by to read all about my dreams! I would love to hear if you have any of the same dreams, so feel free to comment below!

Makeover MADENESS {TPT Challenge}

I am so excited to be participating in the TPT Seller Challenge hosted by Third in Hollywood, Teach Create Motivate, Sparkling in Second, and Peppy Zesty Teacherista! This week's challenge is to makeover an old product. I decided to revamp a best-selling product of mine: Inch and Centimeter Task Cards!

For the makeover I updated the cover, terms of use and credits page, added some new clipart, and updated the font.

Cover Before
Cover After
However my BIGGEST makeover came from listening to my buyers feedback to include an additional way to use this product!

Originally, I had this product as two different task card scoots: an inch scoot and a centimeter scoot. However, a buyer of mine asked if this product could have the inch and the centimeter scoot combined together into one longer scoot. This terrific feedback allowed me to rethink the my product and now I have added this option. I have renumbered the task cards and created a new recording sheet for the students to use!

If you have purchased this product already please make sure to go back to TPT and download it again for your updated copy!

If you don't have this product already, head over to my Facebook page to win a copy by the end of the week!
